Steven Dearing has been teaching guitar since 1992 in Michigan and Southern Ontario region. In Canada, Steven studied with Jeffrey McFadden (U. of Toronto), Dominic Bertucci (U. of Windsor), and William Beauvais (Royal Conservatory of Music). In the US, he studied with John Holmquist (Cleveland Institute of Music) and Michael Stockdale (Center for Creative Studies). Steven has performed in master classes with several international artists including David Russell, Fabio Zanon, Ricardo Cobo and Manuel Barreuco. He holds a Masters degree in Guitar Performance and has been on faculty at the University of Windsor since 1995. Eight of his students have been awarded silver medals from the Royal Conservatory of Music for achieving the highest marks in Ontario on their RCM exams, and many of his current and former pupils are now teaching at Detroit/Windsor music schools and performing throughout North America. Steven is the guitarist of the Dearing Concert Duo, an international touring voice and classical guitar duo that is heard on radio internationally
